CountrySide Vet

Dr. Michaela Sumnicht

Dr. Michaela Sumnicht grew up in Appleton, WI. Her love for animals and the veterinary field stemmed from her childhood family dog, Snowball, who was always very tolerant of her playing pretend vet with. She attended St. Norbert College where she received her undergraduate degree in Biology in 2018, and then left for the East Coast where she received her DVM at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University in 2022. Although Michaela enjoyed her time in Massachusetts and met a lot of wonderful friends, she is very excited to be back home practicing in the Midwest.

Michaela enjoys all aspects of small animal practice, but has special interest in surgery, internal medicine, and preventative medicine. She also enjoys client education, ranging from how to train your puppy to understanding more complex diseases.

Outside of work, Michaela enjoys spending time with her family and friends, as well as her four cats (Cleo & Jasper, Greg, and Walter). She also has a horse (Indie), who she enjoys riding. Michaela loves spending time outside, hiking, checking out new breweries, going for bike rides, and reading books.
